Museum Measures for Prevention of COVID-19 Infection:
Wearing a mask and other prevention equipment
Staffs will wear masks or face guards, and other equipment like gloves, if required, at the time of guidance and correspondence to visitors.
Placement of Alcohol sprays for sanitization and sterilization
Alcohol sprays will be made available in various places of the Museum facilities.
Placement of splash prevention sheets
Splash prevention sheets are installed at the Reception counter and Museum Shop cashiers where face-to-face customer service is required.
Periodical sanitization and cleaning of museum facilities
Exhibition galleries, handrails and counters are sanitized periodically.
The knobs and other parts of restrooms, lockers, and other facilities, which may be frequently touched by visitors, are cleaned, and sanitized thoroughly. Staffs are available at the elevator(s) for operation.
Health check of staffs
Staffs are required to a daily temperature screening and health check and will thoroughly sanitize hands and fingers with alcohol spray or wash them with soap and water.
In case of making a queue, staffs will assist visitors to keep adequate distance.
Date and time specified reservation system
The date and time specified reservation system is introduced to reduce congestion in the exhibition galleries and to keep the safe environment for appreciating the exhibition.
Temporal closure of some galleries and facilities and changed and suspension in the services
The following services are changed or suspended, and some facilities are closed temporarily.
|Opening days are changed, and opening hours are shortened.|
|Ceramic Sherd Room and Rouault Room are closed.|
|Museum guided tours, lectures and other Museum events are suspended.|
|Group visiting is suspended.|
|Some of the Museum products and publications may not be handled in the Shop for now.|
|Tea service in the lobby is suspended.|
|The number of benches in the exhibition galleries and in the lobby are reduced.|
|On-demand storage of large luggage is suspended.|
|The use of hand dryers in restrooms is suspended.|
Requests to Museum Visitors:
For enjoyment the exhibition at the Museum in the safe and secure environment, we would like to ask visitors for cooperation in the following matters. We thank you very much for your understanding.
Making a reservation prior to visiting the Museum
The date and time specified reservation system is introduced. The use of the system prior to visiting the Museum is appreciated. Visitors are also requested to keep the number in the group to a minimum when visiting the Museum.
Health check prior to visiting the Museum
Visitors are kindly requested to cooperate in temperature screening before the entry into the Museum.
For those with a temperature of 37.5˚C (99.5˚F) or higher and/or coughing and feeling sick, please refrain from visiting the Museum
illing a visitor information sheet upon arrival
Visitors are kindly requested to fill in a visitor information sheet.
The visitor information sheet will be used to make a contact when there is a possibility of a COVID-19 patient cluster. The information will be used only for the report to the public health centers and other medical institutions in such cases. It will be kept for one month and abandoned after that period.
Wearing a mask
Visitors are requested to wear a mask (or a face/mouth guard).
The request does not apply to those, including infants and children, who have difficulties in wearing such prevention equipment.
Periodical sanitization of hands and fingers
Periodical sanitization of hands and fingers with alcohol spray or washing them with soap and water are strongly suggested.
Keeping a distance with other visitors when viewing art works
Visitors are asked to follow the instruction of museum staffs and signs in the exhibition galleries for keeping adequate distance between visitors.
Please refrain from touching art works, display cases and walls of the exhibition galleries.
Other Prevention Measures
Inside the exhibition galleries, please observe common-sense etiquette for coughing, speaking not in loud voice and other prevention measures for the spread of COVID-19.
Visitors without wearing a mask (or a face/mouth guard) and/or having a fever and feeling sick may not be allowed into the Museum.
When the visitors feel sick, please ask staffs nearby for help.
